A warm ochre wash with a laurel frame in solid strokes — mid-weight ink coverage, no fragile line work, and it reproduces reliably on whatever machine is available. This matters for unveilings, which are often printed close to the day at a local shop rather than ordered in advance.
Choosing the photograph
The arch crop needs headroom above the head. The warm earth palette flatters photographs taken outdoors and in natural light, and sits comfortably with images of the homestead or the family land, which unveiling booklets carry more often than funeral ones do.

- It is drawn for one. The earth palette belongs at a homestead rather than in a chapel, and the design carries the acknowledgements section that matters most at these ceremonies — who contributed toward the stone.
- Can we include a photograph of the stone?
- Yes, though the arch crop rounds its top corner. If the headstone photograph is the main image, Granite or Unveiling Classic use a rectangular crop that keeps it intact.
- Does it work in the SA languages?
