Printing this design
A soft rose wash with filigree detail — the most delicate line work in the unveiling set, and it needs a genuine print rather than a photocopy. At 600dpi it holds beautifully; reproduced on a worn copier the filigree softens to grey and the design loses its character. Ink coverage itself is low.
Choosing the photograph
The circular crop removes the corners, so centre the face and keep the edges clear. It is not the design to choose if the cover image is a headstone — the circle cuts into a rectangular stone awkwardly. A portrait of the person is what it is drawn for.
Questions about Floral Frame
- Can we use a photograph of the stone?
- Not comfortably — the circular crop cuts into a rectangular headstone. Granite, Unveiling Classic and Modern Light all use a rectangular crop and handle a stone photograph properly.
- Will the filigree survive a photocopy?
- Not well. It needs a real print from the PDF. If the copies are coming off an office machine, Heritage Earth carries a similar warmth with a frame drawn robustly enough to survive it.
- Is it too soft for an unveiling?
- An unveiling a year on is a gentler occasion than the funeral was, and many families want the booklet to say so. Whether this is too gentle is a family decision — look at it beside Granite before choosing.
